Mystics unveil the realm of subtle sensory experiences …

Image
Mysticism encompasses the enigmatic spiritual dimensions that elude our sensory perception. Initially, humans encounter the world through their tangible or physical senses, such as touch through their hands, hearing through their ears, and scent through their noses. However, as individuals advance on their spiritual journey, they may attain more refined faculties through specific spiritual techniques or the benevolence of a spiritual teacher (Sadguru). Over time, these individuals cultivate subtle senses within their awakened subtle bodies. Merely because ordinary individuals lack the ability to perceive specific spiritual phenomena in their surroundings does not negate their existence. Our perception is constrained, preventing us from comprehending certain spiritual realities solely through our cognitive faculties. A mystic or authentic saint possesses the capacity to unveil these imperceptible spiritual truths. They perceive God within the universe that surrounds them and achieve o

Understanding our Ignorance separates Illusions from Reality

Image
An individual on a profound spiritual journey, possessing an elevated state of awareness, can discern between deceptive thoughts and genuine reality. While some adherents of various religious traditions advocate the use of Rudraksh malas to attain this heightened level of consciousness, such external aids prove insufficient. True enlightenment and knowledge can only be achieved when one directly experiences the absence of ignorance, thereby gaining a profound understanding of knowledge itself. As human beings, our cerebral capacity is but a minuscule fragment in the vast expanse of the Universe, underscoring the need for us to humbly acknowledge the limitations of our knowledge. The teachings of Sadgurus guide us to cultivate awareness of our own ignorance and commence our journey with a blank slate. Over the course of our lives, every experience etches its own reasoning deep into the recesses of our minds, and thus, the initial step toward true knowledge demands that we confront our

Need of a Guru..

Image
Human history at all points of time, anywhere in the world, has had the need of a Guru, a teacher, or a mentor to show or lead a path. Whatever the status of a man or woman may be, the fact remains that he or she must have taken guidance, at some point of time, from someone and for some time. Of course, parents are the teachers or mentors of their offspring at the earliest stages of their life. This is followed by teachers in the nursery, school, college, university, and the fields of higher learning. In the Indian context, the Guru and Shishya relationship in the past carried a higher connotation in the Gurukul Ashramas. He was not only a teacher or mentor but also a defined personality who not only imparted knowledge both mental and practical but also played a role in elevating the soul to higher ethical standards and spiritualism. The Guru was held as a divine personality. However, except for Sadgurus like Shirdi Sai Baba, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and others; the normal relationshi

War is a turning point of history…

Image
The word ‘war’ evokes in the human beings as a sense of fear, violence, destruction and uncertainty of a massive magnitude affecting adversely the lives of an un-accountable number of human beings. Historically, one recalls the massive destruction and trauma that the world faced during the first and second world wars during the last century. Besides the two global wars, history has recorded innumerable number of wars in the past. For the common man war generally means a hostility or conflict or contest carried out by the armed forces between nations, or between parties within a nation; warfare by land, sea or air. The tale of many wars can be found in the famous epics of the world. For the Indians, “Ramayana” & “Mahabharata” are the two most valuable epic references in this context. In the 11 th , 12 th and 13 th century the Christians of Europe undertook military expedition to recover their land from the Muslims. War is a turning point of history for both sides engaged in it. Life is a synthesis of matter and spirit

Image
At times, people claiming to be on the spiritual path, say that they have no use of money and matters. On the other hand, people carrying on with material pursuit say that they need money & material things always. This is a mono-theistic view towards life and not a practical one towards human existence. The European writer Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel proclaims the theory of “Spirit Alone Is” whereas Karl max proclaims “Matter Alone Is”. Life is a synthesis of matter and spirit. A balanced life means the maintenance of a balance between the spirit and matter in the right proportion. It is the spirit or soul which holds a dynamic human body in an organic form. Without the medium of a material body, the sprit cannot manifest itself and without the spirit within, organic body is nothing but a dead substance. One need to have a strong body to carry on with the spiritual practices. Therefore, the Yogis of Yore always emphasized about the maintance of physical excellence. Yoga and pra

Spiritualism is the call of the heart…

Image
Shirdi Sai Baba used to spend a lot of time conversing with His devotees in order to teach them ethics, religion and a pious way of leading their lives. An analysis of many of His activities reflects His spiritual and universal approach. Baba wanted to break the barriers and walls that we create between us and others based on differences in caste, religion, wealth, education, profession and status. He wanted us to abandon the sense of duality and distinction that prevent our spiritual progress. He used many different methods to help us to do this. One method that He used was to eat with groups of devotees and smoke a hookah with them. After taking a few puffs He would pass His hookah around to those sitting with Him — Hindus or Muslims, high or low caste, rich or poor. His purpose was to break human barriers between His devotees based on religion, caste, creed and temporal differentiation. His compassionate nature tells us that any activity done in the name of Baba is not fruitful unle

The real path towards spirituality…

Image
The Path towards the Sadguru is the real path towards spirituality, needed much in this age of conflicts, contradictions, and acute materialism. As Swami Vivekananda said, like different rivers leading to the sea, all the paths that men take lead to Him, the God eternal. The paths that are mostly adopted by the seekers are  Rajyoga ,  Gyanayoga ,  Karmayoga ,  Bhaktiyoga ,  Hathayoga ,  Layayoga ,  Nivruti Marg ,  Pravriti Marg  etc. There are even  Avadhootas ,  Kapalikas , Aghoris, and many other types of spiritual seekers. Different religions have different approaches. In this multiplicity of approaches towards the understanding and realization of God, there has to be something common and universal that binds us together. The seekers with such a universal approach make spiritual progress with comparative ease relative to others. Sitting in Dwarakmayee masjid in Shirdi, Shri Sai Baba said that there are many paths, but one of the paths leads to God through Dwarkamayee. When one ana
